Stay at home if you or anyone in your household have coronavirus symptoms

You should stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms.

Patients who live alone should stay at home for 7 days if they have either:

  • a high temperature

  • a new, continuous cough

If you live with other people and anyone has new coronavirus symptoms;

  • a high temperature

  • a new, continuous cough

The whole household should self-isolate for 14 days from the date of the first symptom

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. This will only put more people at risk.

You DO NOT need to contact 111 to tell them you are staying at home.

You should only contact the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home

  • your condition gets worse

  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
