Changes to practice membership at Octagon Medical Practice

Unfortunately a delay in the National Clinical System update has led to the change to a new Clinical Platform for NVH failing last night.

This means that all the good work completed yesterday across all sites will have to be repeated today. We are working tremendously hard to minimise the impact on patients today and tomorrow, but have to inform patients that all of our sites will be closed once again this afternoon from 4:00pm.

This decision is totally out of our control and we can only apologise to you all.

This means that we can only operate 'emergency' systems this afternoon at each Surgery site from 4pm. Patients with acute needs on the day can still contact their GP for advice and support through the usual routes, however we will not have any clinical systems available from 4:00pm at any site as the split of patient records from Octagon will begin at this time.

Tomorrow morning, 2nd December, Nene Valley Hodgson will not have a clinical system in place until late morning at the earliest. Patients can still contact the surgery for advice and support but if your request is not urgent we advise that you call the surgery in the afternoon.

All other Octagon sites will be open as usual on the 2nd.

Once again, we apologise for this unavoidable delay, which was outside of our control.

UPDATE to changes

Please note that the attached PDF dates are incorrect and will be changed w/c 22nd November following updates from the CCG.

Octagon Medical Practice has agreed to review its membership and to create smaller practice groups. The planned changes to membership will take place over the next few months. We would like to reassure all our patients that none of the current Octagon surgery sites will close as part of this process and patients will continue to have access to the services they do currently. We will keep patients updated during this process and will be communicating directly with patients in due course.

The agreed timeline and practice groupings are below:

Hodgson Medical Centre & Nene Valley - 1st November 2021

Thomas Walker Surgery and Westgate Surgeries - 1st December 2021

Park Medical Centre and Bretton Medical Practice - 1st January 2022

Thorney and Eye Medical Practice & Jenner Healthcare - 1st January 2022

We would like to reassure patients that these are administrative changes. None of the current surgery sites will close as part of this process and patients will continue to have access to NHS services from their practice as they do currently.

We will write to patients in due course to confirm that their GP registration details have been updated to reflect the new practice groupings above.

We have also published a set of Frequently Asked Questions for patients. If you cannot find the answer to the question you are looking for please contact your practice for an update.

We will continue to keep patients updated during the transition process. Please check this page or our facebook page for the latest updates.
